In Port Haliguen, the old breton harbour of
Quiberon / France

Port Haliguen, the small traditional, more than hundred
years old harbour of Quiberon needed to be woken from its sleep. He
needed a new center of interest.

I created two sculptures that were placed on each side
of the old harbour entrance.
A young and pretty
water sprite who seems to be ready to dive into the sea from the
top of the stony quay, and, facing her, at the end of the other
pier, sitting on a lobster pot, , protecting his eyes from the
sun with his hand, an old fisherman who looks at her with nostalgy

Those two works had a great succes among the
population and became one of the most popular attractions of Port
Haliguen. tourists like to have a walk and pay them a visit, and
have pictures taken leaning on them..
They even take pictures of children sitting on the fisherman's
lap. The two statues became the symbol of the harbour, the old
one and the new one, its old activity - , fishing and the new
one - tourism.
