An important Swiss bank of Guernsey Island ordered me a monument representing
the Swiss knight Othon (around 1150).

To my opinion, although being impressive such a 3 meters high statue would
not be very interesting.
I suggested to add high reliefs describing Othon's life and its most striking
events.
I created a 4x1,5 m work, representing all important
moments of Knight Othon's life. A text engraved with gold letters describes
the event on the oblique sides of the platform in front of each scene.
This high relief made a strong impression on the passers-by
and nowadays, tour-operators have included the visit of the monument in
their tour of the island. Buses of tourists stop there and a 15 minuts
visit gives them a complete explanation of knight Othon's life.
At the end of the visit, the spectator knows everything
about Othon' life and personality . It is interesting to note that people
pay almost no attention to the three meters high monumental statue representing
Othon which is standing only a few meters away .
