Foreword to the exhibition catalog
by Pierre-Christian Taittinger (deputy-mayor of Paris)

It is difficult to express with words the elegance and the force, the sweetness and the power.

One could then betray the sensibility of the eye and the search of the hand that follows the lines and discovers the shapes

Marble, stone and bronze have given the sculptor the material which allows him to translate life. The writing can only accompany his work, sometimes explain it, but never replace it.

How could one describe lyric violence or romantic imagination, the part of truth and dream that we meet when seeing the movement escaping from the matter, dashing towards us with the subtle dynamic of bodies geometry.

Rodin, whose work dominated the beginning of the XXth century, wrote " it is necessary for all lines to be expressive, to be useful for the revelation of consciousness", this is the the sculptor's process in his permanent search for the expression of a passion.

We find in KARSTEN KLINGBEIL from Berlin-Charlottenburg, not only this self-confidence in the search of human being's feeling, but also the sensibility expressed by a body that creates its part of poetry beginning with a static attitude.

The rhythm of the lines, the rigour of the forms are inseparable of refinement and elegance. When it affects the body, he discovers another form of figuration that the machine offers him

But the work remains identical, patterns remain the same, even if some details are modified. This real world goes on expressing itself and never leaves us indifferent..

I am sure that lovers of sculpture will discover here living and unexpected realities, this rigour and theses excesses which contribute to the originality and the solidity of a work, strengthened by a beauty beyond time.
